Who am I?
My name is Yesenia Lopez Alvarez. I am a very passionate and dedicated person. I love listening to people, helping them, and learning from their experiences. I am a mother of four beautiful girls between ages ten and six years old. I have twins that were diagnosed with Autism when they were a year and a half. They have been a part of the Special Education Program in the Paulding County School District for the last three years. As a family, we are blessed to have them in our lives. We are especially blessed with the opportunity to see them grow physically and intellectually.
What can I Do?
Parent Mentors work with families of students with disabilities on a daily basis providing them with tools, resources, and strategies that they can use to support their children at home, at school, and in the community. As parent of children with disabilities, I am committed to provide parents with timely access to information and family-friendly resources on a variety of topics and issues.

¿Quién soy?
Mi nombre es Yesenia López Álvarez. Soy una persona muy apasionada y dedicada. Me encanta escuchar a las personas, ayudarlas y aprender de sus experiencias. Soy madre de cuatro hermosas niñas de entre siete y tres años. Tengo gemelas que fueron diagnosticadas con autismo cuando tenían un año y medio. Ellas han sido parte del Programa de Educación Especial en el Distrito Escolar del Condado de Paulding durante los últimos tres años. Como familia, tenemos la bendición de tenerlas en nuestras vidas. Especialmente estamos muy bendecidos el poder tener la oportunidad de verlas crecer física e intelectualmente.
¿Qué puedo hacer?
Los padres mentores trabajan con familias de estudiantes con discapacidades brindándoles herramientas, recursos y estrategias que pueden usar para apoyar a sus hijos en el hogar, la escuela y la comunidad en su diario vivir. Como madre de niñas con discapacidades, estoy comprometida a brindarles a los padres acceso oportuno a información y recursos familiares sobre una variedad de temas y problemas.
